My inspiration came from women that encouraged and believed in me. These women were strong yet sweet and humble, loving, poised and graceful in so many ways. My Nana Lillie Bell and Great Grandmother Almetta Matterson were avid bakers and my mentors.
Baking is in our blood -- when we bake, it is out of love and from the soul!!! The passing of my grandmothers left me with awesome memories of women I adore and a desire to carry on their legacy. Baking sweet treats makes me feel better about everything; it brings forth comfort, peace and closeness especially when I am missing them.
The name Lillie's Little Cupcakes represents my Nana Lillie Bell Smith and incorporates her strong family values that all of her babies are her Little Cupcakes.
